Setting up your new Zen can be challenging when you don't know what to do. This is why I've decided to write together a comprehensive guide built together through various resources on how to setup your new Cronus Zen device. There are 4 different steps to setup your Zen properly. We will go through each step thoroughly to make sure your Zen is perfectly setup.
1. Download the newest Zen Studio
2. Plug your Cronus Zen into a computer running Windows using the Programmer cable.
3. Open Zen Studios, if the Zen is detected correctly, you'll see the GPC Library on the left, and your Zen Serial Number will be displayed at the bottom right.
4. Important: Whenever you install a new version of Zen Studios, head to Tools > Reset Zen Studio, and hit Yes. This will quickly restart your Zen Studios, avoiding various glitches.
5. Unplug the Programmer cable from your Cronus Zen, but keep it connected to your PC for Step 2.
6. Important: Whenever you install a new version of Zen Studios, head to Tools > Reset Zen Studio, and hit Yes. This will quickly restart your Zen Studios, avoiding various glitches.
1. Connect your Cronus Zen to a computer from the Console/PC
Usb Port
2. Press and hold Zen's blue reset button until the OLED screen displays 'Zen Bootloader'.
3. Open Zen Studios and select Tools > Firmware Update. The firmware tool should detect your Zen and will display its current firmware version and serial number. Click on it.
4. NO DEVICES FOUND?
If the firmware update tool displays No Devices Found, or some other error, this is usually a faulty USB cable, however, you can check out the Firmware Troubleshoot Guide written by Collective Minds for a solution to every possible issue.
5. Hit 'Begin Update'. In around 18 seconds, your Zen will be updated to the newest firmware version.
We will be mainly going over how to use your Controller using the Matched USB setup. This is by far the easiest to setup and the most hassle-free. This Setup Works perfectly with PC, PlayStation® 4, Xbox®, and Nintendo® Switch consoles, as well as their respective controllers. (Any Controller for PC)
1. Connect your Cronus Zen to a computer running Windows using the Programmer Cable.
PS4: Open Zen Studio > Device Panel > Set the output protocol to PLAYSTATION5/4.
XBOX: Open Zen Studio > Device Panel > Set the output protocol to XBOX ONE X/S.
PC: Open Zen Studio > Device Panel > Set the output protocol to AUTO
2. Connect your Cronus Zen to your console using the Console/PC
USB Cable (the short USB cable is recommended). For this MATCHED example, we're using the Xbox® Series X console and an Xbox® Series X|S Controller.
3. Plug your controller into Zen's A1 USB Port, After a couple seconds the controller should power up and sync to the Cronus Zen.
Note: Having trouble syncing? Simply unplug the controller from the A1 port, tap Zen's reset button, wait 5 seconds and plug it back in.
4. Before using any GamePacks or scripts, it is important that you first test your controller in a game to ensure all the buttons are working correctly.
Congratulations! Your Zen should now be fully setup and ready to use! The last Step you will need to take is to find a perfect Script to use with your device.
We highly recommend our own Scripts, as these are setup correctly to your settings, and make sure that you don't have to spend endless hours trying to set up a script on your own. We offer our Basic Script, which is perfect for anyone just getting into using a Zen in games, our Advanced Script, which has some essential mods and better Aim Assist Boosters to help you perform better in-game, and lastly our Custom Script, which is the strongest Script you can buy on the market!
We hope this short guide has helped you setting up your Cronus Zen! If you still have any questions remaining about how to setup your Zen, you can create a ticket in our Discord Server and ask for help!
